We want everyone to feel welcome, respected, and supported. Our inclusivity guidelines help ensure our events and spaces are safe for all queer and neurodivergent folks. Read through to see how we uphold these values, and let us know—what does inclusivity mean to you?
Respect & Safety
Zero tolerance for discrimination — No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, fatphobia, or any form of bigotry.
Respect pronouns & identities — Always use people’s correct names and pronouns. If you’re unsure, ask or use gender-neutral language.
No outing — Never disclose someone’s LGBTQ+ identity or neurodivergence without their explicit permission.
Consent is key — Always ask before hugging, touching, or discussing sensitive topics.
No hate speech or slurs — Even if you reclaim a word for yourself, avoid using it in ways that could make others uncomfortable.
Neurodivergent & Accessibility Inclusion
Respect different communication styles — Some people may prefer writing, using speech apps, or needing extra time to process conversations.
No pressure to socialize — People can engage at their own pace, whether quietly observing, taking breaks, or actively participating.
Provide trigger warnings — If discussing heavy topics (e.g., mental health, trauma), give a heads-up first.
Avoid sensory overload — Be mindful of loud noises, strong scents, and overwhelming lighting in event spaces.
Quiet spaces are created whenever possible — If someone needs to step away, we allow them to do so without question.
Communication & Conflict Resolution
Assume good intentions, but prioritize impact — If someone says something hurtful, listen, learn, and correct it rather than getting defensive.
No interruptions (as much as possible) or talking over others — Everyone is given a chance to speak in group settings.
Address issues privately & respectfully — If a conflict arises, take it to DMs or a moderator rather than calling someone out publicly. If it’s IRL, members will be pulled aside and dealt with privately.
Be mindful of jokes & sarcasm — Not everyone processes humor the same way, so ensure jokes don’t alienate or harm others. We also encourage using tone tags whenever possible.
Community & Event Expectations
All events are judgment-free zones — Whether you’re social, shy, energetic, or quiet, you belong here. :)
Respect personal space — Not everyone is comfortable with close seating, physical touch, or eye contact.
Financial accessibility matters — If an event has a cost, pay-what-you-can options will be available whenever possible.
Content warnings for photos/videos — Always ask before taking pictures or tagging someone online.
Gender-neutral language is always used and encouraged.
Recognize intersectionality — Understand that experiences differ based on race, disability, gender, and background.
No gatekeeping — Everyone experiences queerness and neurodivergence differently, and all valid identities are welcome.
